Canary Islands are full of good viewing locations.

A volcanic archipelago with high mountains where the horizon is the ocean itself has to bring many options!

Usually is El Teide (3.718 meters above sea level) where usually the pictures are taken from, but if you can see many places from its summit, then the opposite view should also be possible… And here we have one of them.

A fantastic sunrise view of El Teide from El Hierro island, one of the most recent volanic activity.

Regardless of whether you are travelling by plane, by car next to Chamonix or doing some trekking 200 kilometers away, it is always a shape to recognize in the horizon, and even more when the day is as clean as this one here.

Beautiful details around the peak we can see in this image: while the surroundings are still covered with shadows, the summit as already met the sun and its orange colors are starting to fill the picture.

I now wonder how amazing it would had been to see this scene from the very summit that day.

Here we have a very good picture from our recent contributor David Guenot, showing us the beautiful morning lights over the Pic the Soularac as seen from Samatan, France.

A calm morning on that day provided the very specific conditions that are needed for long distant sights, and the result is impressive.

We  look forward to more pictures from you David!

Again another example of the great day that happened almoste 3 years ago, when almost all the peaks in the Pyrenees were able to be seen from a single viewing location.

Exceptionally good visibility conditions allowed us to see further than 250 kilometers away, covering the whole range, from the peaks in Navarra to the peaks in Cataluña.

One of the traditional lines of sights of Spain, that has been many times captured during the last decades, now has a place in Beyond Horizons as well.

A very cold and windy morning of February, just after the sunrise, the conditions were met to achieve more than 200 kilometers, even though the conditions averall were not so good.

Take a look at the building in the bottom right corner!

Antoine always impresses us with beautiful high quality pictures from the area around Corsica and this time is no exception.

Moreover, this is the first time that we publish an image taken during night time, yet another proof of the incredible visibility and clear air that we had during the last August 12th

We can see below that the same mountains were phtographed during the sunset, at night and during sunrise of the following day (in IR)
Thank you Antoine for sharing with us this views!

If there is a picture that we always wanted to get is the view from Canigó of the Alpes.

Left of Mount Ventoux, an small line of mountains shows up: Barre des Écrins, one of the greatest lines in Europe at 412 km.

No one could ever imagine that such a picture can be achieved in mid Summer, but August 12 is a day that we will remember forever.

Long before sunrise the brilliant horizon cutted the silhouettes above Golfe du Lion and the challenge was achieved.

Thank you Yves Courtel for showing us this beautiful picture of one of the very best mountains in Europe: Mont Blanc.

Target in our mountaineering life for may of us, now we can see this peak from as far as 332 km., as seen from the summit of Plomb du Cantal, in the central France massif.

Crystal clear view and perfect atmosphere! Who know how far it could go if some more peaks were shown in the horizon!

As Yves quotes: “It was a perfect day, with the mountains showing up half hour before sunrise. The mountains dissapeared once the sun rose.”

For those trying to reach this summit for a similar view, it is easy to access through a 1:45 hours hike.
